EXECUTIVE PASTOR JOB POSTING

We are looking for an Executive Pastor to join our team to oversee the operations of our church and help build our church’s mission and vision. The Executive Pastor’s responsibilities include developing and implementing processes for church operations, managing the organization’s resources and assisting the Lead Pastors with the development of staff and volunteers. Ultimately, the Executive Pastor shall work with the Senior Pastors of Mesquite Worship Center to ensure that people are empowered, trained, and released into the callings God has for them.

Reporting to the Lead Pastors, the Executive Pastor’s core responsibility is to ensure organizational infrastructure, fiscal integrity and disciple making processes exist which align with Godly church governance (Mark 9:35, Matt. 20:25-27).

Chief Operating Officer Responsibilities:

Serve on the Mesquite Worship Center pastoral staff.

Develop, implement and ensure adherence to all church ministry policies and processes.

Assist the Board with all church legal matters.

Assist the Lead Pastors and Board with making and implementing key leadership decisions.

Assist with and ensure appropriate stewardship of capital campaigns and/or projects.

Assist with the provision of leadership to all non-pastoral volunteers. This includes Communications, Community Life, Service Productions, Children’s Ministry and Administration.

Coordinate ministry team and leadership meetings, as required.

Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee annual budget, monitor cash flow and produce financial reports on a timely basis.

Review, approve and supervise weekly and monthly expenses.

Develop. implement and ensure adherence to all financial policies and processes.

Serve as Liaison between the Lead Pastors and Board on all financial related matters.

Develop and present annual financial reports to church members.

Oversee all Mesquite Worship Center financial activities, including reserved and designated funds, loans, large gifts, etc.

Ensure timely and effective reporting to all stakeholders, including those required by Apostolic Network of Global Awakening (ANGA).

Ensures compliance with all government legislation.

Executive Ministry Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Pastors in the provision of oversight to various volunteer-led ministries.

Assist the Lead Pastors with pastoral care, ensuring adherence to benevolence policies.

Serve on the teaching team and prayer ministry teams.

Work with the Lead Pastors and pastoral team in the development of short and long term strategic planning for the church.

Attend meetings necessary for the accomplishment of team-led ministry.

Candidate should be proficient and confident in the following areas:

Taking initiative by providing vision and leadership for their areas of ministry.

Strategic thinker and able to engage in creative and innovative solutions.

Embracing ministry that allows space for the spiritual gifts (ex. Healing, words of wisdom, faith and knowledge, prophetic, etc.)

Passionate, relevant and engaging communication skills. Exceptional verbal communication skills required.

Very strong organizational skills for growing, mobilizing and maintaining a strong and effective team environment. Able to manage large, complex and growing ministry environments.

Recruiting, training, leading, and caring for ministry volunteers.

Additional Requirements:

Has a passion to increase the ministry’s effectiveness and to help shape the spiritual lives of people through discipleship.

Meets the biblical qualification of servant leaders (1 Tim 3:1-6, Tit 1:6-9 & 1 Pet 5:1-3).

Possess a personal life consistent with biblical standards, including a solid and stable marriage and family life.

Wholeheartedly supports Mesquite Worship Center’s vision, direction, philosophy of ministry and ANGA Statement of Beliefs.

Participates in other aspects of ministry fellowship opportunities.

Self-motivated, self-disciplined and teachable.

Is a team player and committed to unity in the body of Christ.

Obtains various background checks as required (i.e. working with children, etc.).

Professional Qualifications:

Holds a Master’s Degree from an accredited Christian University in either Administration (MCM), pastoral ministry (MDIV) or Biblical Studies (MTS) PLUS a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Experience serving in churches which are transitioning from church plants to mid-size.

Experience leading and serving with others in a muti-staff/volunteer environment.

Ten or more years of leadership and management experience within a church or para-church environment.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a contract position (non-employee) position with remuneration commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview process. Benefits include vacation and reimbursement of prior approved professional-related expenses. Government-regulated employment benefits, health insurance and housing allowances are not included in the overall compensation package.
